Kristin Chong is a Kauai photographer who specializes in family portraits, weddings, events and architectural photography. She lives on the West side of the island with her husband and 2 daughters. Kristin has been a full-time professional photographer on Kauai for more than 10 years.

Background

Kristin studied photography and majored in graphic design at Savannah College of Art & Design. After graduating college, she worked as a graphic designer and in-house photographer for architecture firms in Atlanta and New York City. There, she designed marketing materials and travelled the country to photograph people, events and architecture for her employers. Kristin’s training as a graphic designer is evident in the striking composition and color balance displayed in her Kauai photography.

In December 2010, she traded her job on Park Avenue for a life where she could spend more time in real parks. She moved from Manhattan to Kauai, where she fell in love with the island. Today, Kristin is lending her photography skill to local Kauai residents and visitors alike.

Professional Equipment

Kristin uses professional grade Nikon cameras and lenses as well as multiple flashes and other lighting modifiers as needed. After the photos are taken, she “develops” them in Adobe Lightroom.
